ESPN Fantasy Football Updated For 2013 Season, Can’t Make Opening Day Come Any Faster

Published on 04/24/2013 by in News

unnamed (11)It’s hard out there for a football fan. With almost five months to go and nothing but basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, NASCAR, and that game all the foreigners play with their feet to tide us over, it’s going to be a long summer. If you’re one of the millions who can’t get enough of fantasy football, you can kill time with the official ESPN Fantasy Football app, updated for the Draft and thankfully devoid of an annual re-title. It’s available as a free, ad-supported download for devices running Gingerbread or later.

Are you an AT&T U-verse customer who’s been chomping at the bit to get your hands (or eyes, rather) on some sports action while on-the-go? Today’s your lucky day – AT&T and ESPN just announced support for the WatchESPN app for qualifying U-verse customers. And by “qualifying” they mean “customers who actually have ESPN as part of their package.” So, that should be pretty much everyone, right?

Either way, the app is free so you can hit up the Play Store to grab it, enter your U-verse login credentials, and away you go. Just in time for the NBA Playoffs, too.

ESPN ScoreCenter App Goes 3.0, Finally Adopts Modern Android Interface

Published on 12/19/2012 by in News

ESPN’s ScoreCenter app received a total overhaul of an update today, hitting version 3.0, and adopting a brand-new UI in the process. The new app basically follows Android’s Holo guidelines (not that strict adherence is necessary for a great app), and looks much more in line with the modern Android aesthetic.

ScoreCenter, if you’re not familiar, is an app that allows you track scores in various sports for your favorite teams, along with serving as a light-duty sports news feed. So, if you’re looking for another outlet to get your game-result fix in a personalized format, it may be worth a shot.

ESPN ScoreCenter updated with refreshed and improved UI

Published on 12/19/2012 by in News

ESPN ScoreCenter

ESPN has just made a pretty substantial update to its ScoreCenter app for Android, bringing in a completely refreshed UI experience. The app now follows most of the general Google design guidelines — aka “holo” — throughout the app, from removing the legacy menu button to using sliding panels and tabbed navigation. This is a big step forward in design for the app, and it really makes a difference in terms of usability and overall aesthetics.

When the big companies like ESPN start getting on board with the latest design guidelines, it’s a good sign that people are starting to take notice of the large numbers of devices running Android 4.0 and higher. This is what we like to see. YOu can grab a download of the new and improved ScoreCenter app from the Google Play link at the top of this post.
